Extreme Home Cleaning Contest Results
What began as a contest to find a deserving person to win a complete top to bottom home cleaning and carpet cleaning, certainly turned out to be much more. The spirit of our community really came through. First of all, here is the winning nomination.
I would like to nominate Judy Dann of DuPont. Judy is a young woman who was injured, by an uninsured motorist as she crossed a street in Seattle, just as she was beginning a career as an engineer. She spent 6 months in the hospital after the accident. She now has to depend on a walker and wheelchair to get around. Even with her limited mobility, eyesight and speech she has managed to live independently for a number of years. This past year she has had surgery and is now on kidney dialysis three times per week. Even through all of this Judy maintains a sense of humor and love for others. Winning your Extreme Home Cleaning Holiday Giveaway would be a special treat for this brave young woman.
Sincerely,
Frances Anderson

When I visited Judy's home to congratulate her, she was not what I expected. Besides being gracious and warm, I met one of the most positive people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I could not agree more with a comment made about her from a person who cared for her at the time of her accident. She said: "Throughout time she showed tremendous courage, strength, faith, and perseverance and it has resulted in her ability to live independently." What I saw in her apartment did not reflect what such a courageous positive person was deserving of.
Together, many of our neighbors and businesses banded together to not only clean her home, but also completely re-decorate and refurbish as much as we could. To her surprise on what she thought was her cleaning appointment she was picked up in a stretch limo and taken to our new luxury hotel in town where she was pampered. The money from a fund raiser and some generous private donations went to pay off a debt on a power wheelchair and make the improvements on her apartment. On New Years Eve, the limo brought her home to the huge surprise. I could not be more proud of our community and what we did.
